This morning at 9.30am, a lorry with an attached crane crashed into the covered linkway linking Block 116 to 118 Bukit Batok West Ave 6, causing it to collapse.
No one was injured. However, a car that was parked nearby was damaged by the collapsed linkway. The Town Council will be assisting the owner of the car in his claim for compensation.
Our initial findings revealed that the lorry driver failed to lower the crane before driving through the linkway. The Police are investigating the matter.
Our immediate priority is the safety of the residents. The affected area had been barricaded, while we work on dismantling the damaged portion of the linkway.
We thank the affected residents for their patience. We will keep them posted of repair works to the affected linkway in due course.
